Hearing the huge ‘roar’ of one of Exmoor’s giant Reds as it reverberates around the forest, is an experience likely to stand your hair on end! In fact, we reckon its possibly one of the most exhilarating hunting experiences that you are ever likely to encounter.  

We travel to Exmoor during the height of the autumn rut to hunt these enormous beasts when they are at their most active and vocal. 

Known as Exmoor Giants, the Red deer of Exmoor are widely recognised as the largest deer in the UK. In the club’s second trip to Exmoor this year, just three lucky rifles are invited to hunt lowland Red deer in the Exe Valley near Tiverton, Devon. The stalking here is excellent.

Rifles are invited to put their field craft to the test and stalk on foot in a beautiful block of forestry where these huge Red deer are abundant. 

Members retire after the evening stalk to a lovely local hotel, before getting up early the next day for an early morning stalk, a return to the hotel for breakfast and departure.

For those wishing to travel by rail, Tiverton rail staion is less than two hours from London and just ten minutes from the hotel.
